My rustling heart song.
My spirit of change.

If you soften your sight
you will see the placement of the grains,
the depth of the relief,
the movement of the sea.

Tiny flickers like candle flames,
Holding on to autumn light.
As shadows fill the open space,
It’s twinkle lights before the night.

Since moving to southern Oregon,
we have a slightly different take on that
sweet holiday phrase,
“Kiss me under the mistletoe.”

Holding hands in silence.
Remembering and hoping.
Dreaming and wishing.
